BIT's 4th World DNA and Genome Day (WDD-2013), Nanjing, China |
BIT's 4th World DNA and Genome Day (WDD-2013) with the theme “Grand celebrations of 60thth anniversary of DNA double-helix structure discovery” that was held in Nanjing, China during April 25-27, 2013 has gained great success. Five Nobel Laureates and a lot of Renowned Speakers from many countries attended this conference. We express our great gratitude for all the participants in conveying their latest research results at our conference. Meanwhile, it's our great pleasure to establish close relationship with hosting organizations with China Medicinal Biotech Association, State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and Nanjing Municipal Government to ensure the excellent service quality and high profiles of the cluster conferences.
Five Nobel Laureates have made the wonderful presentations at the opening ceremony including: Dr. Richard J. Roberts, New England Biolabs, UK, The Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology or Medicine 1993; Dr. Avram Hershko, Distinguished Professor, Israel Institute of Technology Haifa, Israel, Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry 2004; Dr. Rolf Zinkernagel, Professor of Experimental Immunology, University of Zurich, Switzerland, Nobel Prize laureate in Physiology or Medicine 1996; Dr. Ferid Murad, Professor, George Washington University, USA, The Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology or Medicine 1998; Dr. Erwin Neher, Director, Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Germany, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1991.
There were 26 sessions following the Opening Ceremony covering topics in fields including: Decoding Diseases and Health; Breaking Genomics Research and Technology; Breakthroughs in Genetics of Human Diseases; Non-Human Genetic Models; Gene Therapy; Omics Research; Translational Genomics & Genetics, etc.
In addition to the highly specialized branch and forum, exhibitors’ booths at the scene of the conference were also a major highlight of the event. The enterprises provided scientists with advanced instruments, which also have been making great contribution to the scientific research achievements. They work together with the scientists to revealing the secrets of DNA-based research, biomedical studies and human genomics.
